"KEEP HAITI GREEN AND BEAUTIFUL"
(Haiti Libre) -

The Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in Chicago will proceed Thursday, April 19, 2012, to the official launch of the program: "Keep Haiti green and beautiful", initiated by President Michel Martelly, and the Responsible of the Liaison Office with the Diaspora, Ms. Bernice Fidélia. To this end, President Martelly created the Office of Liaison with the Diaspora in June 2011, whose mission is to connect the Haitians of the diaspora with the citizens of their communities of origin; so that they can combine their efforts to rebuild the Pearl of the Antilles, city after city.

The executive committee members of this program are collaborating in a long term effort to improve the living conditions of communities in Haiti, targeting specific areas in order to clean, paint, plant trees, and promote community awareness. This large movement is expected to integrate, not only the combined efforts of the Haitian diaspora, but also those of friends who support the Haitian people.

The Consulate General invites the public authorities, private sector institutions, the civil society, as well as NGOs, to provide full and complete support to the success of this program; so that the Haitian people, and the country as a whole, benefits from the anticipated benefits of this implementation.

In this perspective, large delegations of government officials, Haitian and foreign businessmen, and heads of nonprofit organizations, will travel to Haiti in order to enhance the launch of this audacious and commendable national project: "Keep Haiti green and beautiful"
