ARNEL BELIZAIRE FRUSTRATED, THREATENED TO BOYCOTT THE FILING OF DOCUMENTS BY THE PM
(Haiti Libre) -
Deputy Arnel Bélizaire, visibly frustrated at not being part of the Special Commission responsible for analyzing the documents of the Prime Minister-designate, Laurent Lamothe, is threatening to boycott [?] the filing of documents planned for next Monday.
He denounces a certain haste in the treatment of this issue, and demands his presence on the Special Commission of Ratification, in his capacity as an independent deputy, while qualifying at the same time, the Commission as being "illegal" [?]
Deputy Bélizaire justifies his claim, by stating that the latter (claims) complies with the internal regulations of the Chamber of Deputies... Yet nothing in this regulation allows Arnel Bélizaire to demand his presence within the Commission; especially, since he issued no objection at the time of the designation of members, by the office of the Lower House, during the formation of the Commission...
Article 50 of the internal regulations of the Chamber of Deputies states, "Members of the Special Commission are appointed by the bureau, on the proposal of presidents of the group and by taking into account the political configuration of the Assembly. The Independent Deputies present individually their candidacy to the President of the Chamber of Deputies."
