ARTICLE - CREATION OF COMMISSION

CREATION OF A SPECIAL COMMISSION IN THE LOWER HOUSE
(Haiti Libre) -

Despite the suspension Tuesday, of the session of deputies in the lower house, caused by the intervention of a hundred armed men in fatigues, claiming to be former military, the Special Commission to review the documents of the Prime-Minister-designate, Laurent Lamothe was formed. It is composed of representatives of the various political sensitivities of the lower house [6 blocs]. No deadline was set for the submission of the report of the Commission. A letter was sent to the Prime Minister-designate, inviting him to submit his documents Thursday [in principle].

Composition of the Special Commission of Deputies :

President : Thimoleon Stevenson Jacques [Petit-Goâve, West - LAVNI]
Vice - president : Jules Lyonel Anélus [Lestère, Artibonite, Nord - ANSANM NOU FÒ]
Secretary-rapporteur : Vikens Dérilus [Verrettes, Artibonite - MODELH-PRDH]
Member : Gluck Teophile [Limonade/Quartier Morin, North - AYITI AN AKSYON (AAA)]
Member : Abel Descolines [Mirebalais/Boucan Carré, Center -LAVNI]
Member : Séjour Rodriguez [1st constituency of Port-au-Prince - LIBERATION]
Member : Francenet Dénius [Lazile, Nippes, Southwest - INITE]

The Prime Minister-designate, was satisfied with the positive development that represents the creation of this Commission in the democratic process "... This is once again a positive development, for the democratic process [...] I'll have to go to the Chamber of Deputies to submit my documents so that the Commission can analyze them, and we can move forward because we know it is very important and essential, that the democratic process in the country advances so that all things can return to normal [...] I will sumbit the same documents [as those submitted to the Commission of the Senate]. That's why I'm ready, and I expect the invitation between today and tomorrow so that I can submit my documents..."

Meanwhile, Laurent Lamothe relentlessly pursues his negotiations with the parliamentarians, and political parties, to secure a majority in his favor "...I think the process is progressing very well. We had several meetings, and we have stepped up meetings with the different blocks. This has allowed us to work on the priorities of constituents, on certain details, and issues [...]"
