When Dr. Karen was here in February an elderly lady with a huge neck came for help. We first got a sonogram done and it showed that the swelling is called by a goiter. This is a thyroid problem that can result in a severe goiter like this woman has. We also did some blood work for her. Next week we hope to send her to the hospital in Cange, with the hope that they can do a surgery to help her. This hospital is located in the Central Plateau and provides free hospital care. Pray that they can help her.
Pray also for the medical system here in Haiti, that people don't have to suffer for so long before receiving medical care.
