PORT-AU-PRINCE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE TO OPEN A SPECIALIZED LIBRARY

PORT-AU-PRINCE - The announcement was made ​​by the Government Commissioner in Port-au-Prince, Jean Renel Senatus, that a library would be opening in the Prosecutor's Office in Port-au-Prince April 18, 2012.

According to Mr. Senatus, this library will be housed within the office of the prosecution. There is a large room that is already developed for this purpose.

For this project, the commissioner of Port-au-Prince took his staff to solicit law books from the various offices of the capital in order to assist the jurisdiction of Port-au-Prince, a work that is useful to all Haitian prosecution staff. Because he believed the prosecution staff are scarce in research materials.

"They need books and CDs, such as codes, texts of various Official Journals, cases of law, etc.."

The head of the prosecution wants to resurrect his biggest project which is to revive the models of men who made outstanding submissions in the practice of law in Haiti.

This space will also be a reading room with internet that can accommodate at least 50 people seated properly, informed Mr. Senatus.

Asked about the source of funds, the Government Commissioner in Port-au-Prince said he is seeking assistance from MINUSTAH and the Department of Justice and Public Safety to carry out this ambitious project.

"These bodies have promised me their support, certainly, but I'll manage with the means at hand to open exactly on the 18th of April 2012. That day, the library will be open to the public, which will be received by young people predisposed for the occasion. Upon my arrival at the head of the prosecution, I've always wanted to bring something innovative that will carry the imprint of my person. And now I am proud to be the first to give the Prosecutor's Office of Port-au-Prince, a library," said Jean Renel Senatus.

"It appeals to all intellectuals of the country and people of good will for them to donate at least a book in order to furnish the prosecution's library."
