DOMINICAN SENATOR GENIES GIVING MONEY TO PRESIDENT MARTELLY
(Defend Haiti) -

SANTO DOMINGO - Dominican Senator Felix Bautista (PLD-San Juan) denied, on Tuesday, having given money to President Michel Martelly.

"I have never given money to the president of Haiti," the legislator said, according to Listin Diario.

Bautista said, "there are lots of anonymous documents altered and distorted information, which are part of a smear campaign." The Dominican senator also said that he has all the documentary evidence establishing the falsity of the allegations.

Also, Bautista says he has a team of lawyers that are studying all relevant information, videos, documents, interviews, opinions and comments that have been reported in various media, to take measures.

According to the newspaper Listin Diario, Bautista cited a biblical passage, "as it says in the Bible, the Book of Ecclesiastes, chapter 3, verses 1-9: everything has its time." He added, "I'm focused on the election campaign, and working hard to win the first round."

The journalist Nuria Piera released a report showing that the Senator of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) managed a series of contracts worth millions of dollars in Haiti, and made monetary contributions to President Michel Martelly before and after his inauguration to the presidency.
