MGR. GUIRE POULARD WANTS MORE ORDER IN THE GOVERNMENT
(Haiti Libre) -
During a meeting with officials of international volunteer groups, Mgr. Guire Poulard, the Archbishop of Port-au-Prince, said, "It is necessary to restore order to the administration in Haiti" because "if the country was well organized; in ten years, it would be rebuilt"... adding that people who are in government, as the Senators and members of Parliament are,... are "not prepared"
Nevertheless, the Archbishop of Port-au-Prince, remains convinced that the country will survive, because the Haitian people are made up of people "who work and are not afraid of poverty"; explaining that in Haiti there are a thousand religious Catholics, of which are 800 priests, committed to providing services throughout the country in education, rebuilding, attention to children, support to families, and in health care.
He stated also the Church's commitment to educating Christians "who are called to rebuild the country", especially young people and students.
