Today was a very busy day and I am posting some of the action photos from the day, before I relax and rest up for tomorrow. It sure is fun seeing people get help! Dr. Karen's medical team held their second clinic day here at Coram Deo and treated around 200 patients for the day. Roseanne came with a bunch of people who are neighbors of her in Cite Soleil. Amos gave them a ride back after they were seen by the team. Kimosabee sure can carry a big load!
Our dormitory is full with children who are being treated for their medical problems. Calens gave a lending hand to Jameson. Jameson recently spent one month in the Nos Petits Freres Hospital for malnutrition. His aunt is responsible for him now after Jameson's mother died and his father couldn't provide the food he needed to live. Jamesons aunt is the mother of the young hydrocephalus girl seated on the right side of the photo. Vanessa is a bubbly smart little girl. While her mother was in the hospital at Jameson's bedside Vanessa was not receiving the nutrition that she needed. They are both recovering here at Coram Deo with their mother/aunt. Pray for strength for both of them.
The school year is in full swing now and once the children are done school some of them get busy doing their homework. Paulna and Rebecca are both in their second year of secondary school.
The children love having visitors. After the clinic the boys enjoyed interacting with them.
The kitchen table was used again for minor surgeries. You can tell Dr. Karen loves her job. She is smiling while draining this man's underarm abscess. Notice one of the visitors holding a camera. Dr. Karen's daughter was talking with her on skype while Dr. Karen was multi-tasking. She was showing and explaining to her daughter what she was doing over the skype cell phone call. Technology sure is amazing!
Today was a long and busy day and I am tired so there won't be any other articles or pictures but I sure do have lots of things to share :)
