PRESIDENT MARTELLY PLANS TO ARREST OTHER MPS, SAYS DEPUTY SOREL JACINTHE
(Defend Haiti) - By Jonel Juste

PORT-AU-PRINCE - Before seizing Deputy Belizaire Thursday, President Martelly had openly stated that he planned to arrest other Members of Parliament, reports the Lower House President, Sorel Jacinthe.

The president threatened Deputy Jacinthe that he will "catch him as well".

"I have records about you. I'll sue you because you killed a 15-year old teen," allegedly said Michel Martelly as quoted by the president of the Lower House.

"We are facing a dictatorship that is growing in the country," lamented Deputy Levaillant Louis-Jeune.

"The Parliament is being attacked," responded Senator Franky Friday Exeus, reacting from the United States on Representative Arnel Belizaire's arrest. "I cannot believe that society has accepted this", he said.

The deputies are to meet this Friday to formally comment on the arrest of Arnel Belizaire, while under immunity. They threaten to erect a high court of justice against President Martelly.

Mr. Belizaire was dramatically handcuffed last night at the international airport of Port-au-Prince as he stepped off a plane from Paris. Then he was driven to the National Penitentiary.
