MEDICAL TEAM - DR. KAREN

Dr. Karen McCarthy's medical team arrived late in the morning and got right to work. They saw close to 100 people in just an afternoon's work. The team has made multiple trips to Haiti and the people living in the community are grateful for their efforts. We didn't even do advertising to annouonce the clinic. The Haitian "telejol" (haitian grapevine) quickly filled up the yard with patients. Our kitchen table is nice and large... perfect for use as a surgical table for minor surgeries. This child was getting a 6th finger removed that was dangling from her pinky finger.
This boy had a cyst on his shoulder. Dr. Karen removed it and sutured his shoulder with about 15 stitches. We give the Lord thanks for all those who come to help. The children watched from the door. I told them that there would be no dinner until the surgery was done :)
The team finished up by early evening and packed their suitcases for the next clinic which will be held in Gonaives. We work together with Christian Light Ministries in organizing the medical clinics in our Delmas 31 neighborhood. I took a lot of photos but these few show that it was a busy and long afternoon for the team. Pray for traveling mercies as they travel to Gonaives and back to Port-au-Prince on Wednesday afternoon. The next clinic will be held here at Coram Deo on Thursday morning.
