BLESSINGS

2 special international days that are specifically important for Haiti are World Food Day (Oct. 16th) and International Eradification of Poverty Day (Oct. 17th). Hunger and poverty are the greatest problems here in Haiti that are caused by severe unemployment, insecurity and corruption. Pray that with a new government Haiti can move forward and be able to move away from the severe poverty and hunger that is a result. We have been very busy the last few weeks. I have been delegating most of the running around work to Amos and he is doing a good job. I have been focused on the school program making sure that the school year gets off to a good start. Amos took some photos while he was out and I will be posting them during the week. This week Dr. Karen arrives with a medical team and we will be busy hosting medical clinics here at Coram Deo on Tuesday afternoon, Thursday and Saturday morning. Next week the neurosurgery team from the University of Miami comes in to Bernard Mevs/Project Medishare hospital to do another round of hydrocephalus surgeries. Currently we have 6 mothers and their hydrocephalus babies who are from outlying areas who are either recovering or awaiting a surgery/additional surgery. Pray for all the activities going on and especially pray for progress here in Haiti and that the country can move forward.

A blessing we received from Love a Child and their program through Feed My Starving Children were the "Manna" rice meals. Amos went out to Fond Parisien last Thursday to pick up some boxes for us and another mission.
The school children eagerly off-loaded the boxes from the truck and brought them inside. We are grateful for these blessings of rice meals that we will be using in our programs here at Coram Deo.
