photos - repairs - part 1

We have a drainage problem from the outside shower that needed taking care of. The easiest and cheapest solution was to dig a channel from one end of the yard to the outside wall and out to the gutter in the street.

We took a 4" PVC pipe and cut it in half to form the channel.

I asked the guys to give Pastor Pierre a hand. They gave their feet instead! 3 of them are holding the pipe steady with their feet while Macdonald is making sure the pipe is cut straight. It was a team effort! Reginald is embarassed. He is the one holding his hands in front of his face.

The pipe sections were cemented in place to form the drainage channel. Once the city gets sewer hookups we will run the drain into the sewer system. That could take years before sewer systems are a reality here in Port-au-Prince.

We took the sliding glass door that was smashed during the earthquake to Atlantic Windows. We had them put in screen instead of glass.
