photos - various - part 6

Everyone has been working hard painting. At night everyone enjoys to watch a dvd.

This man is a tin smith. He uses scrap peices of tin to make small cooking stoves. He is one of the street business people here in our neighborhood.

This shack has been built at the side of the road. Scraps of wood were used to build it. It even has electricity so that this man can listen to his stereo! The Haitian people are very resourceful.

When we passed through the ravine area we met this woman. She showed us her house. I told her that it looked like it was in good shape. Since the earthquake she has been living in a tarp house nearby. She was complaining about being wet when it rained. She was scared to move back into her cement house.

This is her tarp home where she has been living. She told me on Saturday that government inspectors were in the neighborhood and told her that her house is safe to move back into. We are going to visit her later in the week to see if she has moved back into her house. There are many people living in tents and tarp shelters who are scared to move back into houses. We hope to be able to encourage and help convince them to move back. Pray for all those living in the tarp/tent/scrap shelters.
