This area is the area where the charcoal sacs are stored. Selling of charcoal is big business in Haiti but is also the prime cause of deforestation in Haiti. Trees are being cut down to make charcoal.

A lot of people in the community make their living on the sea. These fishermen are hauling in their nets.

This boat is being pushed out from shore.

It was neat to be able to capture this shot of a man throwing out the anchor.

Once the anchor was out the men relaxed. The expression on the front part of the boat is "Dieu nous la" means "Our God is here". The expression on the back part of the boat is "An nou alez" which is a creole expression that means "We have everything we need". These are good expressions!
