ARTICLE - CANADIAN TRAVEL SPECIALISTS

CANADIAN JOURNALISTS, TRAVEL SPECIALISTS, CURRENTLY IN HAITI
(Haiti Libre) -

From 25 April to 2 May 2012, two prominent journalists, specialized in the travel sector, Lio Kiefer (Le Devoir du Québec) and Lise Giguere (Journal de Montreal), accompanied by the well-known Haitian independent journalist, Nancy Roc, will visit the facilities and attractions in the south and north regions of Haiti. This trip of the Canadian press in Haiti, is part of the promotion and development of the tourism sector, committed to by the Haitian government through the Eductour program.

In Jacmel, accompanied by Johanne Ratton, Regional Director, journalists will visit the historic center with its old houses, the Waterfall at Bassin Bleu, Cyvadier and other attractions. On Ile à Vache, they will visit the Port Morgan hotel facilities and Abaka Bay. In Cap Haitien, Dieudonne Luma, the Director of the region will accompany them for a city tour, a visit of hotels, a stay at Cormier, and a visit of historic sites at the Citadelle, Palais Sans Soucis, and Ramier. On the Côte des Arcadins, accompanied by Ms. Dominique Carvonis, Coordinator of the project Eductour, they will visit the hotels of the zone, and the Ogier Fombrun museum. A visit to Croix de Bouquets and meetings with the artisans of beaten metal, is also on their agenda.

Before returning to Canada, journalists will meet with Stéphanie Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism to discuss, at a meeting of reflections, of their experiences, their journalistic report and of the benefits for Haiti.
