photos - various - part 4

From May 21st to May 24th a plastic surgery team from the University of Miami came to do cleft lip and palette surgeries. These surgeries were hosted by Project Medishare. Maggy organizes these surgeries. It is great when these teams come in!

Jean Joseph, a 46 year old man was there to have his cleft lip repaired. When he heals from surgery we will get someone to remove some of his rotten teeth. I can't wait to post a "changed face" photo.

The stigma of cleft lips results in people being shunned. Jean Joseph had no one to sit with him at the hospital. When he heals people will no longer notice his disfigurement. Please keep Jean in prayer. He lives in Cite Soleil.

Yvenson Joseph is an 18-month-old boy and he has a cleft palette. This palette was repaired by the team as well.

There was a serious accident involving a mission team the other week. 17 people were injured including this man. Both of his arms are seriously injured and doctors originally wanted to ampute them. The last few days he has undergone 4 surgeries at the University of Miami/Project Medishare tent hospital. His family is trying to get him to the United States. 6 other haitian people were hospitalized with a few of them being newly created amputees. Several americans were injured and medically evacuated to the United States. Pray for all these people who were injured.
