The hospital set up on the grounds of Love a Child was dismantled this week and the medical teams headed back to the United States. Many people were helped. The refugees and people recovering from injuries are now being housed at "Camp Hope". Love a Child will be building homes for those who lost their homes in the earthquake who reside in this camp. Pray for their efforts in reaching out to the community.
There is lots of room for a camp inside the state national Fond Parisien Natural Park.
The purpose of our visit to Camp Hope was to meet Jordany Nelson. He is a young boy who suffered a crush injury of his skull from falling rubble during the earthquake. Part of his skull was removed to allow for swelling of his brain. Now he needs to go to the United States to have a plate put in. He wears this helmet to protect his head.
His family lives in Camp 3 at Camp Hope in this tent. We are helping Love a Child with co-ordinating the paper work for a medical visa for Jordany. Pray we can get his paperwork done quickly.
This part of the countryside is flat and is easy for wheelchairs to manouver (when there is no rain).
