It's a difficult walk through the ravine with sandals!

Near the broken bridge is where this tinsmith has his shop. He uses recycled scrap to make cooking stoves. He is very industrious!

At the destroyed DGI (tax office) near the palace we saw the french military assisting in removing rubble. It is good to see buildings coming down.

The downtown area has lots of broken buildings and several have been demolished with the rubble left in the streets. We had to take some detours because the rubble blocked our path. Hopefully they will be picked up quickly.

Epi D'or hands out day old french bread sticks to children in the community. They push and shove to get to the front of the line; not very orderly (just like their parents!)
