photos - various - part 3

People are living as best they can in the camps. These men have small solar panels as a power source.

The people keep the area around their tarps/tents/sheets clean.

This family have made a little fence complete with a papaya tree and one corn stalk! They are very environmental!

The Lycee Jacques 1re in Croix-des-Bouquets is a state secondary school. It is also a large refuge camp. The tents in front of the building are supplied by Unicef and are used as classes. The building suffered what looks to be little damage but students are scared to go inside.

The students in their frustration held a demonstration in front of the lycee a few weeks ago when the Lycee didn't open as scheduled due to the refuge camp located on the property. Tires were burned and rocks thrown. Now the school tents are up and the students are attending school.
