Hurricane Irene caused a lot of worries before it passed Haiti. The storm passed off the north coast of Haiti and Port-au-Prince didn't get anything. Perfect weather for the people in the tents. The Comfort pulled out of port preparing for the hurricane to possibly hit Port-au-Prince, and a few days later returned back to port. Fisherman were busy in the bay once the sailing restriction was lifted as a storm precaution.
The man standing in the boat is casting out his net. It was fun watching them fish. They actually caught fish too.
The rainy weather which turned theTerminal Varreux site into a mud bowl blocked the clinics from functioning. The rest of th clinics were held at the Killick base in Carrefour. Surgical patients who were scheduled to go aboard ship still met up at Terminal Varreux under this tent.
