We took a peek inside the shelter area. In this room voudou ceremonies are conducted, usually during the evenings.

This voudou cross has a small bottle of rum attached to it for the spirits to drink as well as some charms.

Much of the land is wasteland which is good for only cactus and thorn bushes.

This shy little girl is standing by the door peeking out at the strange looking "blancs"!

We followed Micheline to meet her other son Luckenson as he walked home from school. Luckenson has some orthopedic problems as well. Luckenson is the boy in the yellow shirt and blue shorts.
