We made a visit to Yonel's family at their tarp/scrap home. They temporarily are living in the yard of a destroyed house along with 7 or 8 other families.
The boy on the right is Jameson. He is Yonel's son and also a student in our school program here at Coram Deo. The young boy standing beside him is Jameson's nephew.
This boy with the sad face has already experienced much. His mother died during the earthquake. The boy's father does not have anything to do with his son. This boy is Yonel's grandson. Now Yonel and his wife are raising him. He just started school here in January. Pray that "light" comes into this young boy's life.
The new additional to Yonel's family is Tanya named after my sister!
We went to Yonel's neighborhood where his broken home is. This is a home that shows the marks of flooding from the broken canal. The mud mark marks the floodline.
