What a change a few weeks brought. The caretaker is looking down in disgust because someone has been stealing all the metal poles that the white veils hang from on the ascent up to the hilltop cross. Pretty sad I think. Even a national memorial isn't safe from thieves!
Hopefully the government will hire security to maintain the site and post a guard.
We helped the caretaker to arrange the hilltop walkway. The white veils that were on the ground we hung from the cross.
It was a breezy day when we were there and everyone helped to anchor down the purple linen cloth with rocks.
Pray for all those families that lost loved ones to the earthquake and pray that the government will protect the mass grave site from thieves.
