photos - marlene's team - part 5

The engineer who designed the grounds of the Mayor of Delmas has parents who live in Quebec Canada. His daughter is in Canada studying engineering at Poly Tech in Montreal. This photo is of the amphitheatre that is being constructed at the back of the grounds. This bandshell will be used for concerts and programs for the citizens in the Delmas community. The current mayor of Delmas is Wilson Jeudy and he is a christian. Several times he has held christian revival concerts and services on the grounds.

Here is a view of the Municipal Offices of Delmas 31.

This is the marble tiled floor showing the seal of the Mayor of Delmas. The staff proudly gave us a tour throughout the building and introduced us to the people in the various departments. The staff is proud at how well the building was built and they say that they have the best mayor's office in the country!

The day the election results came out UN had heavy security keeping an eye out. These soldiers are from Peru and they were keeping an eye on the Place St. Pierre square in Petionville. The results of the election were what the people wanted. Michel Martelly and Mirlande Manigat to the 2nd round.

At the end of the day the soldiers loaded their gear and riot shields back into their vehicle, thankful for a quiet, peaceful day.
