photos - marlene's team - part 3

We cooked the rice into the dehydrated vegetable mixture and this is the final result.

Marlene took a taste test.

And we served it to the children. We ate some too. It tastes good and is very nutritious!

The Gleaners is a charitable organization that packages everything with volunteer work. My parents want to help out there one day to see how things work there. Marlene took some video for the Gleaners that they could use in presentations. We are thankful to those who help make these feeding programs possible for our school children and other mission organizations here in Haiti.

Every day is a busy day, especially more so since the earthquake. For showing visitors the country I find it easier for them to tag along on our errands. We went to a wholesaler on Rte. Nationale 1 to pick up a case of smoke herring sent all the way from Canada! A case of fish like this helped us after the earthquake to make a fish sauce every day for around 100 people in the first week after the earthquake. It is easy to store and makes a tasty sauce.
