photos - corrail - part 2

The Corrail camp was formed when organizations removed some residents living in flood prone areas and transferred them to this location. Large tents were provided for the residents. These tents are of the "5 star" variety. They are roomy for families. The refuge camps we go to are smaller and the tents are not like the ones pictured !

At the entrance to the camp was a UN patrol who provided camp security. These soldiers are from Peru.

They were friendly and we went over to them to say hello.

There is large open space areas for the people living in Corrail. Here is a latrine area.

Some of the large NGO's in Haiti run the camp and provide resources. On this large shelter is spray painted "down with World Vision". The reason this was written was because the people want to have micro-credit programs. They want to be able to have a loan to start a business and then become self-sufficient. Sometimes NGO's take the blame for everything. Hopefully when the new government is elected NGO's and government will work together at rebuilding the country.
