photos - clean-up - part 1

We returned again this week to Fort National to do another food distribution. Jackson had called earlier in the week to tell us that they were making plans for their neighborhood. I met a lady from France who is sponsoring a France-Haiti project to clean up the debris.

There was a different attitude in Fort National this week. It was one of determination to tear up and remove the damaged houses and to remove the bodies that are under them. This young man is proud to be a part of it.

It is a difficult task but the workers are going about this task with joy and a purpose. Once the rubble is gone they can rebuild.

There were more volunteers than materials. That is the biggest request for the people of Fort National, tools. Here is Jackson with his youngest child.

Jackson's group is focusing on clearing out the corridors. Fort National is a dense area and if the corridors can be opened up families can come back in again. This is their goal.
