ARTICLE - AGRO-ECOLOGY TRAINING

PEASANTS TRAINED IN AGRO-ECOLOGY
(Haiti Libre) -

About twenty young farmers from 35 communal sections of the Centre Department, who participated these past 12 months in a training program, at the training center of manager peasants in Papaye, have just received their certificate in agro-ecology. These newly trained peasants are expected to raise awareness in the community on environmental protection and making it a priority.

They promise to contribute in the fight against erosion, deforestation and uncontrolled cutting of trees and also become more integrated into the agricultural production and the struggle for environmental protection; and also, to cut the road to any project aimed at eliminating organic agriculture in favor of industrial agriculture.

Vernat Suprême, in charge of training, indicated for his part, that the whole department will get the benefits of this very good training in the field of agriculture, the environment and biodiversity. All welcomed the smooth running of this training conducted under the auspices of the International Association "Frères des Hommes (FDH)" in partnership with the Peasant Movement of Papaye (MPP).
