Since Nov. 1 is a national holiday and schools were closed we piled 15 people onto Kimosabee and headed out to Sous Zabette, a local watering hole. It is a great place to go and relax and to see lots of trees! This big tree is a mango.
This tree is known as a Sablier. The wood is used for construction and the tree is also used for medicinal purposes for both humans and animals.
There sure are not many large living trees left especially in the Port-au-Prince area.
At the sous a man with a sound system played music for everyone's listening enjoyment.
This is a view of the bridge allowing access from one side of the sous to the other.
