PRESIDENCY CONDEMNS MURDER OF POLICE OFFICER IN THE CAPITAL

PORT-AU-PRINCE - The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Michel Joseph Martelly, condemned the shooting of the police officer Luckner Sylvain, on the Monday afternoon, October 31, 2011.

Luckner Sylvain, married with three (3) children, was shot dead in the street in cold blood at Caravelle (Nazon), not far from his residence, by two men riding on a motorcycle. After the event, the killers took with them his police weapon.

The Presidency, while offering his sympathies to the family of the victim and the Haitian National Police, requests that competent authorities take all necessary steps to bring the bandits to justice, and ensure a safer environment both in the capital and throughout the country.
