Cholera is back in Port-au-Prince. Yesterday morning a mother came with her 4-year-old boy. Richardson Pierre was severely dehydrated after a night of vomiting and diarrhea. We thought it was the flu that has been going around and brought him to Bernard Mevs Hospital. They started an iv immediately and then transferred him by ambulance to the Medecins Sans Frontieres Cholera Hospital on Delmas 33. We visited him yesterday and he had already had 4 1/2 litres of iv fluids. He is a very sick boy but still alive. The cholera tent he was in had no empty beds. Pray for all the medical workers treating the never ending cholera epidemic here in Haiti.
