Yesterday when we were downtown construction workers were busy at work constructing stands for the Carnival festivities that will be starting Sunday afternoon. One of the recent construction projects that have been finished by the government is the Triomphe cinema. All the cinemas in Port-au-Prince were destroyed during the earthquake. The Triomphe is now restored and will be inaugurated soon. Work has been done on a couple of new government ministry buildings. The tax office and the new Cassation (court) building is progressing. It was good yesterday to see work activities instead of striking and protest activities.
