photos - various - part 4

Last week the focus was on medical clinics. The living room is now our pharmacy. We pushed everything towards the middle of the room in order to repair the earthquake cracks. It will look a lot better when there is a coat of paint covering the repairs.

There is a gas shortage. At this gas station on Rue Lamariniere there were a lot of people waiting with containers with the hopes of buying fuel. The government announced that a tanker will be arriving on Sunday.

We are prioritizing the use of Kimosabee this week and saving him for emergencies only. A good week to stay at home and do repairs at the house!

Work has started on demolishing the damaged National Palace. There are always curious onlookers watching the process.

The main thing that people are talking about is setting up a memorial for the January 12th earthquake so that people will never forget. One suggestion was making the palace grounds the memorial site and relocating the national palace elsewhere. Notice after the rubble was removed by the backhoe equipment the chandelier is still hanging in place. Amazing!
