photos - medical clinics - part 6

Fania Privet is a young woman who lives on the street with her 2 young children because her home was destroyed in the earthquake. She sleeps in the Delmas 31 outdoor market. It is not a clean place and both her children had skin infections. She is almost blind from untreated cataracts in both eyes.

We brought Fania on Friday morning to the International Child Care Eye Clinic which is located on Delmas 31. The eye doctor there referred her to General Hospital. He says that there is a visiting american eye surgeon there. She is going there on Tuesday. Pray she can get help to save her vision.

Dr. Karen's team traveled back home on Friday morning. They worked hard at providing medical care to all the patients who came to the 5 medical clinics (3 were held here at Coram Deo, 1 in Petionville and 1 in Cite Soleil). They were able to see 1,200 patients!

Wisner Merisier is a young man from Fond Verrette, which is located in the mountains along the Dominican border. He has gangrene in his left foot.

Somebody in his village removed 2 of his toes using a razor blade. We brought him yesterday afternoon to the Medecin Sans Frontieres Hospital on Delmas 31. Pray for Wisner and those treating him at the hospital.
