Dieula, the 14 year old girl who lost her parents in the earthquake is living with another family in the area. We help out by providing clothing, hygiene products and food to help ease their burden. She also will be starting in our school program here. She has never gone to school. Hopefully she is interested to learn.
Digicel, a cell phone company here in Haiti, in order to encourage good communication is offering free cell phones to missions. We sent an email on Monday afternoon and the next day we were contacted to come pick up some free cell phones. This may be the biggest building in Haiti and better yet is still in good shape after the earthquake.
We received 10 cell phones to distribute to the people in our organization.
We were brought to a room on the 9th floor of the Digicel building. I didn't like being in a building so high off the ground but took a picture of this group of people who were all applicants looking for a job. Notice the damaged buildings in the area.
We hired a haitian cement boss to chisel out and patch our earthquake cracks in the house. There are several of them throughout the house.
