photos - st. louis refuge camp - part 6

Unicef provided the tents for the classrooms at St. Louis de Gonzague

We didn't see too many students there. St. Louis de Gonzague is one of the best schools in Haiti. The families come from the upper class of haitian society. Many students went to the United States, Canada, France to continue their studies.

Hygiene signs published by the Haitian Red Cross are posted for people in the refuge camp offering some good advice. This one says "Keep the Area Around You Clear to Prevent Disease". Underneath the photos reads "Always put garbage in a receptacle"; "Always use the latrine and keep it clean".

This hygiene sign is entitled: "Water is life, but it can destroy life if it isn't protected". The 3 recommendations that follow the pictures are: "Drink treated water; keep the area where you get water clean"; "Conserve water in a receptacle that is clean and cover it"; "Clean well the receptacle before you get the water"

The theme of this hygiene sign is" "Your health depends on clean hands". It lists 4 recommendations:
1. Wash your hands with soap and water
2. Wash your hands before you cook food and before you eat.
3. Wash your hands after you use the toilet
4. Wash your hands after you are finished wiping your child's "butt"
