photos - medical clinics - part 1

Another medical clinic was held on Monday. It didn't take long for the yard to fill up with people!

It is warm outside and the older children set up a water station to provide water for those who were waiting.

The medical team came with lots of eyeglasses. Many people who need glasses go without them because they can't afford it. This man was trying out a pair to see if his vision was improved.

Sophia Clerger and her mother came to the clinic. Sophia is a student in our school program here at Coram Deo. Sophia and her brother Davidson (who is also a student here) were under the rubble of their collapsed house for 4 days. The rest of the family were lifting up the rubble convinced that they were dead but wanting to recover the bodies for burial and were shocked to find them both alive. They were injured and are now healing. We give the Lord thanks for his protection and healing mercies for both Sophia and Davidson.

One of the children who came to the clinic had a bad infection in his leg and in the knee joint area. He couldn't walk. We brought him to the Medecins Sans Frontieres Hospital. The medical team was hoping that the hospital would keep him for a few days for iv antibiotics but they didn't. To help him the team gave him an injectable antibiotic in addition to the oral antibiotics the hospital gave. 4 days later he is walking and doing a lot better!
