photos - karnaval - part 3
Carnival is very good economically for those selling drinks and food. The vendors were all set up waiting for customers.
A lot of churches in Port-au-Prince hold services during the days of Carnival. This banner stretches over Delmas 33 and informs that there will be crusade services during the evenings. The large church where it is held is located on Delmas 31, which is not too far from where we live.
We headed back down the Mayor's Rd. to Delmas 31.
The Haitian and Mayor of Delmas flags are attached to the stage. The writing on the straw hat says "Delma pa gen rival" (Delmas doesn't have any competition).
After the earthquake several ambulances were donated to Haiti. This ambulance was donated to the Mayor of Delmas and is ready to transport sick or injured people if necessary. Carnivals can get quite active and accidents/assaults sometimes happen.
