SENATOR BENOIT EXPECTS A PRODUCTIVE SENATE IN 2012
(Defend Haiti) -

PORT-AU-PRINCE – Senator Steven Benoit (Ouest/Alternative) expects to have a productive 2012 serving as the First Secretary of the Office of the Senate.

In his position as 1st secretary, Senator Benoit, has the duty of preparing the agenda for senate sessions and notifying members of the proceedings before and after.

Speaking to Vision 2000, Senator Benoit placed priorities for the month of January on five (5) laws passed in the Chamber of Deputies of the previous, 48th Legislature, but have not yet been brought to the floor of the senate.

The senator names five (5) resolutions already passed in the lower house to be laws on, paternal responsibility, adoption, the handicapped, parliamentary officials and political parties.

Benoit says he expects the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister to deposit their initiatives to the parliament in the month of January also.
