NEW PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE U.S. AND HAITIAN AUTHORITIES
(Haiti Libre) -

At a ceremony, this Wednesday January 18 at 2:30 pm, at the Sugar Cane Historical Park [to Tabarre 41], the U.S. Embassy in Haiti, will announce the establishment of the State Partnership Program between the Louisiana National Guard (LANG) and the Government of Haiti. Officials from the U.S. and Haitian governments will attend the event.

The State Partnership Program exists to establish and sustain enduring relationships between the Unites States and its partner nations. The program currently consists of 66 partnerships between 46 states and territories and 65 nations throughout the world.

The program between the Louisiana National Guard and Haiti builds on the LANG’s work in the Artibonite Department in 2010 and 2011. It will contribute to strengthen the capacity of the Haitian government to prepare for, and react in case of major natural events, to strengthen the capacity of the Haitian National Police and to support the activities of the Haitian Coast Guard.
