ARTICLE - BEL-AIR - MEETING WITH YOUTH

THE MINISTER OF THE INTERIOR MET THE YOUTH OF BEL-AIR

Mr. Thierry Mayard-Paul, the Minister of Interior, of Territorial Collectivities and National Defense met Monday, January 30, 2012, with representatives of about 70 groups at Bel-Air.

The socio-economic concerns, of young people and the population in general have been the focus of discussion, including education, unemployment, and security. On this last point the population took the opportunity to denounce the various acts of repression of which they say they have been victims. Minister Mayard Paul immediately put them in touch with the concerned officials of each sector for the necessary follow-up.

The Minister of the Interior, also renewed the support of his ministry for initiatives aiming at the social peace and the consolidation of the political stability informing them that talks are underway with the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, the managers of the program "Aba grangou", and the Carnival Committee 2012 among others.
