SOREL JACINTHE AND STEVEN BENOIT WANT THE RAPID PUBLICATION OF THE CONSTITUTION

Thursday, Sorel Jacinthe, the President of the Chamber of Deputies, stated that the President Michel Martelly, had undertaken to publish the corrected amendment of the Constitution before January 1, 2012 and demands its publication, as soon as possible.

It included representatives of Parliament, civil society and the Executive, in a large colloquium that we had with the international Club de Madrid. I believe that in front of the press, the President had made ​​a commitment to publish the amendment to the Constitution prior to January 1st. I told the Prime Minister, that I'm sure that the President, as Head of State will keep his word. We made a commitment [...] and I hope that the Government and the President will meet together immediately, so that we can publish the amended Constitution as soon as possible, so that we can establish a permanent electoral council [...], a really credible one composed of good men and good women."

Senator Steven Benoit abounds in the same direction, noting that when "the Head of State finally gave his word, it means that he had weighed the pros and cons. When the Head of State says he will do something, he must do it. If he does not, he must have a press conference to explain why.
