BORDER PATROL NABS IMPOSTER CROSSING PEACE BRIDGE
(Metro WNY) -

On Dec. 29, CBP Officers encountered a female at the Peace Bridge border crossing in Buffalo, N.Y. The subject presented a valid I-551 Permanent Resident Card and claimed she was returning from a five day vacation in Canada. CBP Officers requested supporting documentation to her Resident Alien Card and the woman presented a valid Haitian passport. CBP Officers noticed that the subject had different physical features than the presented Permanent Resident Card and passport photo.

During secondary inspection, the subject’s fingerprints were taken and confirmed her true identity as Betty Colin, a 34-year-old citizen of Haiti. During an interview, Colin admitted her true identity and that she was acting as an imposter to enter the United States because she had been previously denied visas several times.

Ms. Colin was arrested by CBP Officers and will face federal prosecution on charges of misuse of a passport as well as fraud and misuse of a visa.
