photos - tanya's visit - part 1

The people who live in the refuge camp near the Riviere Grise are making changes to their shelters. The tents are starting to rip and are being replaced by tarp homes with sticks. You can see the different varieties of shelters within the camp.

Mission organizations are supplying larger tents and also building latrines and shower areas.

A gravel bed is being laid down and new tents are being put into place; sadly showing the more permanent nature of some of the refuge camps.

This cement block maker sits at the top of a hill overlooking the refuge camp. Hopefully one day the people living in the camps will be able to live in better shelters. Please keep them in prayer.

On the busy streets near Croix-des-Bouquets there are sometimes traffic slowdowns caused by slow-moving traffic like this ox cart which is used to haul sugar cane!
