photos - visitors - part 2

With the cholera epidemic taking place here in Haiti we have been focusing on hygiene with the students. Here Michelle is handing out a washcloth, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste to the students.

Anje helped hand things out too. The children are happy to receive these gifts. Even simple things like soap and toothpaste are sometimes unaffordable for the families of our students.

Hurricane Tomas was going to pass by Haiti and we finished up as much work as could be done. The last project for the visitors was to build a school shelter for one of the classes. William is helping to bring the wood to the back. The day the storm was supposed to hit we went to Cite Soleil for a medical clinic and the guys stayed back to build the shelter. It was a race to finish both the clinic and the school shelter before the arrival of Hurricane Tomas.

Storm clouds were brewing and we headed out of Cite Soleil by 4:00pm.

Jeff and the boys did their work and finished building the school shelter too. It was fun to get as much work done before the storm started and everything got done! It sure is great when visitors come down to help. We were so busy while the visitors were here that I actually forgot about them when it came to meals a couple of times. They were good about it though.
