photos - usns comfort - part 11

We got our patients that we had brought in through the gates and then settled down for a wait near the gates to watch everything going on.
Dr. John Carroll, in the red scrub pants has made lots of medical mission trips to Haiti and he and his wife came as part of the civilian crew helping out. He was at the gate doing triage on the patients.
Military personnel escorted the patients into the clinic area at the base.
It was well organized with every patient getting an armband on their wrist as their id tag.
The first day only pre-surgical screenings were done. From these screenings a surgical case load was developed for the various surgeons on board the hospital ship.
