BACK ON THE TOUR OF THE PRESDIENT IN THE CENTRAL PLATEAU
(Haiti Libre) -

Thursday, President Martelly made a tour of the Central Plateau, including Mirebalais. In the morning, the Head of State attended a Mass of Thanksgiving sung in the parish of Saint-Louis Roi de France, before going to the hydroelectric power plant of Péligre, to learn about the problems that prevent proper operation.

In Mirebalais, the President of the Republic was welcomed by the people delighted to see a head of state participate, for the first time after more than two decades, at the paronal celebrations for this city.

The Head of State, spoke to the people, reiterating his attachment to his promises of free education, housing assistance, support to agriculture, security and job creation before visiting the main market, "Pas Kannòt" of Mirebalais, accompanied by a jubilant crowd which has renewed its commitment and its confidence in him. The objective was to explore the feasibility of a project aiming to rehabilitate the area by creating infrastructures that can protect traders, merchants and the community against the waste and flood waters.

The Head of State, accompanied by parliamentarians of the Centre department, visited the premises and facilities of the hydroelectric power plant of Péligre and then met with officials on the agricultural and electrical vocations of the plant and on the enigma that is opposed to the quality of service.

He deplored the indifference of the previous leader in the management of the plant, which now provides only 15 MW instead of the 54 produced in the past; adding that "The country needs to overcome these individualistic practices to achieve its real development."

After visiting a small town called Décoville, located south of Péligre and met with young people, the head of state spoke to the entire Haitian people, inviting them to walk towards development and to unite for a prosperous Haiti with Haitians proud to be Haitian.
