ARTICLE - P-A-P - NEW POLICE COMMISSIONER

ALAIN AUGUSTE NEW COMMISSIONER OF POLICE OF PORT-AU-PRINCE
(Haiti Libre) -

Michel-Ange Gédéon, Director of Department West (DDO) of the Police Nationale d'Haiti (PNH) proceeded on Saturday to the installation of a new head of the Police Station of Port-au-Prince. Commissioner Alain Auguste replaces the Divisional Inspector Joseph Dupont who had held this position.

In his speech for the occasion, during the installation of the new Commissioner, the Director of the West, declared "...the jurisdiction of Port-au-Prince is a very important jurisdiction in the department, not to say that it is the jurisdiction that has the most challenges. There was a vacancy that we had to fill... We therefore proposed Commissioner Alain Auguste to fill this position, and the Command of the PNH has endorsed our choice, yesterday evening [Friday] [...]

Today we have Commissioner Alain Auguste, who has just take the direction of the Police Station of Port-au-Prince, a commissioner that we know well. He first worked in Jacmel, and then in Léogâne. We felt that he could be very useful at the Departmental Direction level [...]

As I said before, Port-au-Prince is a jurisdiction that is very very difficult, but we do not doubt the capacity of the new Commissioner to address the challenges ahead. We told him welcome, [...] good luck, and success in the actions that he will do in the department.

We ask all the police officers, from the smallest to the highest rank, to give their full contributions to the new head. We ask for all the heads of the sub-police stations, to support Commissioner Alain Auguste in the difficult tasks ahead. People expect a lot from him, the Command expects many results from him [...] Commissioner Alain, we rely on you, you can count on us... we can say to you that we are ready to bring you all the support that you could want, to facilitate your success and your success at the head of the Police Station of Port-au-Prince."

The new Commissioner Alain Auguste thanked the DDO for having chosen him, saying that they could rely on him "[...] I guarantee that our work will always continue, because we all have only one motto, which is to Serve and Protect..."
