THE CIAT ACCOMPANIES THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES IN THE NORTH CORRIDOR DEVELOPMENT
(Haiti Libre) -

The departments of the North and Northeast will undergo profound changes with the construction of the Caracol Industrial Park, the Roi Henri University, and multiple housing projects distributed in the Cap Haitien - Ouanaminthe corridor. The Interministerial Committee for Regional Development (CIAT), with the support of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) is accompanying the local authorities in a major study that aims to harmonize planning and development policies in this territory. In each city of the corridor the process of an elaboration of a "Development Project and Embellishment, and Extension of the Town " (a local urbanism plan) is in progress. In addition, a reflection at the level of the entire corridor will allow the alignment of current and future investments to enable development of the region, and identify the needs of the region; like the provision of infrastructure, risk management, support for territorial governance, preservation of the environment, tourism development, and agricultural production.
