BUSY DAY #2

There was sad news this morning. The outdoor market in the Tabarre area of Port-au-Prince was burned last night. There was much destruction and it was purposely done. The guys at the house are saying that fires were started at each corner of the market and this resulted in much destruction. Considering that the Prime Minister resigned on Friday, I can't help but wonder that this fire was some sort of political message. The sad part is that those who are striving to improve their lives are the ones who got hurt. Pray for stability for Haiti and that a stable government be in place for the major work that they have in rebuilding Haiti.

Today was even a busier day than yesterday. We were scrambling to finish a couple of projects that Jeff makes looks easy and he got them done just before they had to leave to the airport :) The cement bosses that we hired have been busy along with the guys here putting in a cement pad in a couple of locations. While preparing the areas the last couple of days the guys were able to learn plumbing skills as Jeff showed them how to make repairs to the pipes that they broke with their tools while digging. I am now confident that the guys know how to repair future breakages here :)

Next week is going to be a busy week. Nikki will be spending a week here and Dr. Karen McCarthy and a team of 4 doctors will be holding clinics here on Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday and Saturday morning. Their goal for the 1/2 day clinics will be 250 patients and for the full day clinics 500 patients. It will take some coordinating at crowd control and issuing time appointments to people who come to the gate. Pray for traveling mercies for Dr. Karen and her team and for successful clinics.

I didn't have time to post any photos but I should be able to post photos tomorrow:)
